Russian stocks seen growing following US futures

MOSCOW, Sep 25 (PRIME) -- The Russian stock market will likely rise on Friday in the morning, following the U.S. stocks futures, analysts said.

"The external background before the opening of our trading session is positive. American futures are adding about 0.4%, industrial metals are increasing, gold is trying to start the upward trend. So we will open with a growth," Alor Broker’s senior analyst Alexei Antonov said.

Promsvyazbank analyst Roman Antonov said that the market trend is positive due to a statement by head of the U.S. Federal Reserve System (Fed) Jerome Powell and Treasury Department Secretary Steven Mnuchin that the U.S. economy needs a fiscal support.

Antonov from Alor Broker said that media reports about a proposal by U.S. senators to introduce sanctions against unnamed Russian state officials have emerged but can be seen as a good news because of a small scale of the sanctions.

He said that a presentation by Sberbank on Thursday slightly disappointed investors because the executives did not mention the financials and the plans to form a financial marketplace, and the event clearly was targeted at a different audience. But market participants are still waiting for a good news from the annual shareholder meeting on Friday, and the stocks can recover, the analyst said.

Yandex corrected downwards on Thursday but this trend will likely stop on Friday, Antonov said.
